Coca-Cola released its first flavors of 2024 this February, with its “Happy Tears” and Raspberry Spiced colas.

The first flavor, “Drops of Joy: Happy Tears”, is supposed to embody tears of happiness. It’s the newest addition to the Coca-Cola Creations line, which aims to explore abstract concepts as flavors. From the intergalactic-tasting Coca-Cola Starlight to the suffering-flavored League of Legends Coca-Cola Ultimate, these variants attempt to provide a fun and novel experience in contrast to the standard flavors of most sodas.

This flavor is set to be released on Random Acts of Kindness Day, February 17, and is, Coke says,  inspired by “the tears of joy brought on by small, everyday acts of kindness.” Coca-Cola describes the flavor as infusing the “timeless Coke taste” with “a salty splash of minerals for taste and a sweet pinch of peach”.

Interestingly, it will be exclusive to TikTok’s online shop, where “hype kits”, each containing two cans of the soda to share, as well as a slew of “kindness-themed accessories”, will be available to purchase for $10. The soda kit comes with stickers that match the theming and lowercase-serif-font-aesthetic of the new can design, which is silver and almost entirely monochrome.

The second flavor, Coca-Cola Spiced, is unique in that it is not just a limited-edition, gimmicky flavor, but rather a permanent addition to the Coke roster- the first one added since 2020. Coca-Cola describes this flavor as “blending the iconic taste of Coca‑Cola with a burst of refreshing notes from raspberry and spiced flavors”.  From Delish, Gabby Romeo gave her review on the Spiced Coke, saying it “tasted far better than I could have expected” and that it “evokes some sort of nostalgia”. This flavor will be in stores starting from February 20 with both regular and sugar-free versions.

Will you try any of these new flavors for yourself?
