The nonprofit said the information also helped investigators solve several serious felony cases across the region.
Recovered property and evidence
Officials said the recovered items included $38,040 in stolen property, $40,165 in illegal drugs and nine firearms. The program also paid out $55,600 in rewards to tipsters during the fiscal year, with all of that money coming from private donations.
Cases tied to the tips
88-Crime said the reports helped with 30 fugitive investigations involving people wanted for crimes such as homicide, aggravated assault, firearms violations and human smuggling. Tips also played a role in six drug sales and distribution cases, officials said.
Major investigations advanced
The program said anonymous reports helped solve two homicides, one sexual assault case and one hit-and-run. Officials added that many other felony investigations also benefited from the public’s information.
