Anonymous Tips Lead to 83 Arrests and Recovered Drugs, Guns and Stolen Property Across Southern Arizona Through 88-Crime

Dean Andujar July 26, 2026 Article

TUCSON, AZ — Anonymous tips from the public helped Southern Arizona law enforcement agencies make 83 arrests, close 104 cases and recover drugs, guns and stolen property over the past fiscal year, according to 88-Crime. The nonprofit said the information also helped investigators solve several serious felony cases across the region.

Recovered property and evidence

Officials said the recovered items included $38,040 in stolen property, $40,165 in illegal drugs and nine firearms. The program also paid out $55,600 in rewards to tipsters during the fiscal year, with all of that money coming from private donations.

88-Crime said the reports helped with 30 fugitive investigations involving people wanted for crimes such as homicide, aggravated assault, firearms violations and human smuggling. Tips also played a role in six drug sales and distribution cases, officials said.

Major investigations advanced

The program said anonymous reports helped solve two homicides, one sexual assault case and one hit-and-run. Officials added that many other felony investigations also benefited from the public’s information.
