Eight-Vehicle Crash on Southbound I-15 Near I-215 in Las Vegas Leaves One Car on Top of Another and Sends Two People to Hospital

LAS VEGAS, NV — A chain-reaction crash involving eight vehicles, including a semi-tractor-trailer, tied up southbound I-15 just north of I-215 after Nevada Highway Patrol responded at 10:08 a.m. The collision was reported as a multiple-vehicle injury crash, and one car ended up on top of another.

Two People Transported

Multiple EMS crews rushed to the scene and treated those involved. Authorities said two people were taken from the crash, including the driver of the semi.

Lane Closures And Access

Several travel lanes were shut down during the investigation, although the No. 1 lane was expected to stay open. The collector-distributor from southbound Russell was also closed for access to both I-215 and I-15.

Tow Crews Clear Roadway

Tow trucks removed the vehicles from the freeway as crews worked to clear the scene. After the cleanup, the freeway lanes reopened.

Traffic Returned To Normal

The crash briefly snarled traffic in the area before the roadway reopened. Officials did not provide additional details about what caused the collision.
