Dream Coke

Try Coke’s new limited flavor, “Dreamworld”- a Gen-Z-inspired soda that supposedly tastes like dreams.

According to the Coca-Cola Company themselves, the soda captures “technicolor tastes and surrealism of the subconscious” and encourages consumers to “savor the magic of everyday moments and dream with open eyes.”

The soda flavor will come with a new label, which appears to also take inspiration from fantasy. It sports an eye-catching sky blue, with bright pink and yellow accents and an abstract design featuring windows, fish and a giant red cube.

Each soda also comes with a QR code which can be scanned to bring the user to the Coca-Cola Creations Hub, where they can view an augmented reality music concert as well as access a downloadable metaverse fashion line.

This dream-flavored soda is not the first unusual flavor Coke has released. In fact, it is the 4th addition to the “Coca-Cola Creations” line- a line of limited edition sodas based on unique concepts. If consumers ever had the urge to drink pixels or taste space in May of this year, they were able to with the “Byte” and “Starlight” flavors. The Creations line embraces modern pop culture and technology with a focus on experimentation and creativity.

However, despite being a soda marketed towards Gen-Z, it appears these innovative flavors have not gained much popularity with students at North. Two interviewed students both mentioned that they had not heard of the Creations line or the Dreamworld flavor. Upon learning of it though, both expressed their interest in trying the drink.

“I think if they do it correctly, it would taste good and I’m interested in how it would come out,” said junior Grace Rivero.

Junior Sakari Pollard speculated on what it meant for a soda to taste like dreams, “I don’t know if I would want a soda to taste like dreams because dreams aren’t usually sweet things. They’re just things that happen. I feel like a soda that tastes like dreams is a soda that tastes like the present.”

If anyone is interested in sampling this dreamy drink, Dreamworld is currently offered in most stores throughout the US and is available in both regular and Coke Zero (sugar-free) versions. Don’t miss this opportunity!
