It’s award season! And possibly one of the most anticipated awards shows of the year has recently taken place; The Grammys! The Grammys honors the musical achievements of the past year and has performances along with the well-deserved awards ceremony.

This year’s 66th annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, February 4, and brought wins to many deserving artists, producers, songwriters, and more. Artists like Miley Cyrus, SZA, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish hit huge milestones this year as their Grammy collection grew majorly.

Miley Cyrus won her first Grammy in the category, Best New Song, for “Flower” from her new album. SZA, who was nominated in a whopping nine categories this year, received three awards for Best R&B Song, Best Progressive R&B Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, with Phoebe Bridgers in the collaboration on the song, “Ghost in the Machine”.

After a year filled with wonderful wins, Billie Eilish won, yet another Grammy this year. This time, it was for her amazing song, “What Was I Made For” that was in Barbie earlier last summer. Other wonderful songs from Barbie received awards that night which gave Barbie another reason to be proven great (grammy.com).

One of the biggest moments of the night was when Taylor Swift won her 13th and 14th Grammys for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. These two wins made Taylor Swift the first person in history to win Album of the Year four times, breaking a record that night. Along with this amazing achievement, she also announced a brand new album that she will be releasing in April of this year called, “The Tortured Poets Department”. It is sure to say that this new album will bring even more wins to Swift at the next Grammy Awards!

One of the highlights from that night was that musical legends Tracy Chapman and Billy Joel, along with their new cover artists, performed some of their most famous hits for the first time in years. Artists we have lost in the past year were honored through appreciation presentations and performances by artists like Stevie Wonder.

So many deserving artists received awards this year and hit amazing milestones. We are all hoping for much more great music in time for next year! Congrats to all of the winners and nominees for this year’s Grammy Awards!
