Lanes Reopen in Fallon After Fatal Semi and SUV Crash Shut Down US-50 for Several Hours Thursday Afternoon

FALLON, NV — All lanes on US-50 in Fallon are back open after a deadly crash involving a semi-truck and an SUV on Thursday afternoon. Nevada State Police said the collision happened around 12:25 p.m. and forced the highway to close for a period of time.

Road Closures Lifted

The closure affected US-50 between Bottom Road and Casey Road, according to troopers. Police also shut down an area near Gummow Drive and US-50 while crews responded.

Officials have not released details on what led to the crash. The state police report did confirm that the incident involved both a semi-truck and an SUV.

Authorities said the crash was deadly, but they did not immediately identify the person who died. No additional information about injuries or the condition of others involved has been made public.
