Musical Comedy Murders of the 1940s
Our first play of the school year is here! Drama is putting on a production of The Musical Comedy Murders of the 1940s. This is a story about a group of people in a play together but when Elsa’s best friend gets murdered, she is determined to find the murderer.
The main character, Elsa, gathers the cast at her house and while everyone believes they are gathered to attend a backer’s audition, in reality, they are here to find the masked murderer who is someone among them.
A story with many twists and turns, this who-done-it mystery leads you through the storyline using comedy and mystery all in one. This play is going to keep the audience at the edge of their seats the whole time, wondering what will happen next.
Every character has a significant role in the storyline and each one brings a different aspect of fun and mystery to the table. These characters make the play interesting and fun to watch and their dialogue and characteristics will make the audience enjoy the production even more.
“I can’t really decide a favorite character because they are all so interesting and dynamic, but I would say my favorite character as far as lines go is probably Marjorie,” sophomore Preston Muir explains.
All of the cast members are working hard to connect with their characters to make the story as authentic as possible. They hope each character’s unique storyline comes through in their acting and it is clear how well each character is portrayed.
“I think we’re all getting very involved with our characters, I think we’re all exploring different parts of all the characters we’re playing. And we’re trying very hard to portray them in a way that brings both ourselves out, but also plays the characters to their full extent,” junior Piper Joven says when asked how she feels each character will come to life on stage.
The Musical Comedy Murders of the 1940s is set to be ready to perform on October 27th, 28th, and 29th. Cast and crew are looking forward to sharing their time and commitment with the rest of the school and hoping you will love it as much as they do.
