Robotics wins at virtual competition

May 18, 2021

John W. North’s robotics team – The Rusty Huskies – competed at The Greater San Diego Region Awards. This year the team has been involved in numerous virtual competitions. Typically the team focuses on physical robots but this year they have been able to branch out into game design which is what won an award at this past competition.

The Rusty Huskies won their first Engineering Design Award for their creation of a game called Swashbuckler Slam. This game involved two different ships which performed tasks such as shooting cannonballs, repairing with planks and raising a dabit. Seniors Jonathan Xu and Nuha Huq led this team to victory.

“This was a great opportunity to have and more people should join robotics,” said Xu.
